Vendavo’s Guiding Principles for AI

May 4, 2023

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the business landscape, offering new ways to collect, analyze, and apply data. The ethical implications of AI must be carefully considered to ensure responsible and effective use.

At Vendavo, we are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in our use of AI, and have established guiding principles to help us navigate this constantly evolving field.

As AI technology continues to advance, we recognize the importance of regularly revisiting and updating our guiding principles to ensure we remain at the forefront of responsible innovation.

AI should strive to be explainable

When developing AI systems, we strive for transparency and understanding, so you can trust the results you’re given.

AI should be controllable

AI should be unbiased

Our focus on unbiased AI ensures that our systems do not perpetuate existing biases and discrimination, and that they promote fairness and equality.

AI should be adaptable

We believe in adaptable AI that can evolve and improve over time as new data and technologies become available.

AI should be reliable

We are committed to developing reliable AI systems that can consistently build trust and deliver accurate results with minimal errors.

AI should be transparent

We believe in transparent AI, where the workings of the system are made clear and can be easily understood by users.

AI should be scalable

Our focus on scalable AI ensures that our systems can accommodate growth and handle increasing data volumes without sacrificing performance.

AI should be efficient

We believe in efficient AI, that can process large amounts of data quickly and effectively, while minimizing energy usage.

AI should be interoperable

We prioritize interoperable AI systems that can seamlessly integrate with other technologies, allowing for more efficient and effective operations.

Finally, AI should blend with human expertise

At Vendavo, we believe that the pragmatic combination of AI and human expertise creates a powerful centaur-like entity that is greater than the sum of its parts. We are strong proponents of AI, but we also recognize that AI is not a panacea. There are limits to what AI can do, and the best results are achieved when AI supports what humans do best. Additionally, we know that protecting our customers’ data is of the utmost importance. Therefore, we are committed to blending AI with human expertise in a responsible and ethical way to create solutions that are both effective and trustworthy. Our goal is to build a world where humans and AI can work together in harmony to create a better future for all.
